FAQ's
Q: Do I need to bring a partner?
A: No, but you are more than welcome to! We rotate leaders and followers so that everyone gets to dance with a partner.
Q: What clothing should I wear?
A: Nothing too extravagant for classes, something cool and comfortable with shoes that do not have too much grip. Ladies might find it better with no heels until the basics are covered.
Q: What facilities do you have at the venue?
A: The venue is a community centre and club, so is fully equipped. We also have access to the club bar which is very reasonable as you would expect.
Q: Will I be able to dance after just 8 weeks?
A: The 8 week course is designed to be progressive and will allow you to be confident enough to get up on the dance floor at any party or class event. Obviously the more you practice the better you will be so this is why we encourage our students to stay after class and enjoy the social side of Salsa dancing with like minded people.
Q: What if I have two left feet?
A: Don’t worry, most of the Salsa dancers and even some teachers started out with two left feet. The good thing about Salsa is that it teaches you rhythm so you will find yourself shaking your hips to anything a DJ can play, even at a disco!
Q: But I’m really shy, will anyone talk to me?
A: We have found over the years that Salsa is an extremely friendly and social dance with people from all walks of life taking it up. You will have no problem with people talking to you and you will find that you end up with new friends at the end of it. This friendship will keep increasing the more you attend. Don’t be surprised if your confidence ends up increasing and the shy person you used to be fades into the past.
